A controversial incident involving Cardiff City defender Krystian Bielik has sparked widespread reaction following Cardiff’s Championship clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
The incident occurred during the second half, with Cardiff trailing Portsmouth 2–0. According to reports, Bielik was attempting to retrieve the ball near the touchline when a young Portsmouth supporter threw the ball over him.
Bielik then appeared to grab the fan around the neck, triggering a heated confrontation between the player and the supporter.
The young fan appeared to respond by pushing and slapping Bielik before stewards intervened. The supporter was subsequently escorted away from the stadium with members of his family.
The confrontation caused a temporary stoppage of around three minutes as players, officials and stadium staff attempted to calm the situation.
